-
Are you concerned about an elderly
family member being home alone?
-
Does your parent prefer to live at
home rather than in an assisted living facility?
-
Are you concerned and need assistance caring for your aging
loved one?
In-home elder care companions allow Florida seniors to age
in
the peace, comfort and security of their own home.
Working with hospitals, physicians, social
workers, rehabilitation centers, nurse registries, and home
health agencies throughout Florida, American Home Companions
makes life easier for you.
-
If you, an elderly
loved one, or your parents have reached the time in life
when they need a little extra care, and you don’t want them
to live alone or in an institution such as an assisted
living facility or nursing home, that’s the time when
American Home Companions can help.
-
Should full home
health nursing services or assisted living placement become
necessary, we can refer you to an appropriate agency.
-
American Home
Companions provides a quality alternative to an assisted
living facility or other institutional care or
cost-prohibitive private duty nurses with affordable live-in
or hourly companions.
-
Our companions handle
the daily tasks of cooking, cleaning and general household
chores as well as offering companionship.
American Home Companions presents companions
who have been screened based on their sensitivity and
compassionate nature. In additional to both State mandated
and National background checks, the caregivers are bonded
and insured through American Home Companions. We stay in
frequent contact with the client and client’s family to
assure customer satisfaction and that expectations are being
met.
To enable our senior citizens to live their twilight years in the familiar, comfortable
and secure setting of their own home, by providing them with the caring assistance they need to stay there.

Preparing the
Elderly for Hurricanes:
It’s that time of year
down here in Florida and in the aftermath of
Fay and a few more on their way, hurricanes
are the topic of today.
First and foremost, if
the elder is on oxygen contact your power
company and register with them. See if you
will be placed on a priority list for
getting your power restored, if not you will
need to come up with a plan B.
When facing the
decision or mandate to evacuate, know where
your special-needs shelters are located. To
name a few, here are their numbers or you
can visit each county’s website:
Brevard County
(321) 637-6670
Orange County
(407) 650-4047
Seminole County
(407) 665-5102
Seniors evacuating to
these facilities should have a list of
medications, any diet restrictions and
oxygen requirements if necessary. Take a
change of clothes, two weeks of medications,
your insurance cards and in some cases your
caregiver.
